fun for the whole family!
The GrassRoots Festival is proud to be an event that the whole family can enjoy. We strive to create a relaxed, family-friendly environment and have a large kids' activities area in a central location. We welcome children of all ages, and children 12 & under even attend free.
In the Kids' Area, children make crafts, enjoy performances, play games, and just generally make merry with their fellow young'uns. The Kids' Area has its own schedule of daily activities and performances starting at 10am each day and closing at 6pm. Some activities include arts and crafts, human checkers, make a joyful noise, hula hoop workshops, and the physics bus. There is also face-painting, stilt walking, and juggling. Stop by early in the festival to see the most up-to-date schedule of children's performances and activities taking place each day.
Also, be sure to stop by the Art Barn. The Art Barn is host to parade headquarters, where kids can make masks and dress-up to participate in the annual Happiness Parade which takes place at 2:00pm on Sunday. Join in!
youth policy
Children 15 and under must have a parent or guardian present to enter. Youth passes will not be sold to youth at the gate without a parent or guardian. This is an extremely family friendly festival, and kids of all ages are welcome, but we cannot be responsible for youngsters here without adult supervision.
